2018 Favorite Books

These are my favorite books of the year:

The Excellence Dividend by Tom Peters

Tom Peters is one of the great leadership thinkers I have come across. His book is a series of small case studies and soundbites about how business should work. A breath of fresh air. Highly recommend.

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

Fiction has long been my escape from stressful times. Want to know how stressed I am? Ask me what I’m reading. A Gentleman in Moscow is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. The words, cadence, vocabulary, and sense of scene make this book resonate in my memory. It also made me drink more red wine. Coincidence?

When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing by Daniel Pink

I am a big fan of Dan Pink. I subscribe to his email, watch his videos, and have read all of his published materials. I’ve also met the man after hearing him speak (I wrote about that here). This book reminds us that velocity needs to be tempered with awareness for timing. The better we get at the timing, the better we are at relationships at home and at work.

Have a wonderful rest of the year.
