Change. Is. Hard.

Change. Is. Hard.

Coming to a decision to be different is easy. My inner monologue sounds like this: I should do X. I should do Y. But, my brain and mouth run faster than my will to act. Commitment to a new path is the issue – heck, when will I even start this new change?

The calendar gives us great options. New Year’s day is a popular choice and so is our respective birthdays. Both represent hard deadlines for accomplishing something important or making an overdue change. And yet there are so many other great choices. The first of any month (12), or any Monday (52) work well too. Each morning is a new beginning – everything looks and feels new and fresh in the morning. In the morning, our will power is at its highest and our decisions come easier.

Today is the first working day of the month. It’s a great time to make a change, to commit to something that we have been telling ourselves to do for a while. And since new beginnings are difficult, start fresh in the morning. Start fresh on the first Monday of the month.
